This Is What Volunteering Looks Like
Every distribution, food pickup, and box packed happens because volunteers show up. You do not need experience. Bring some time, a willing heart, and we will help you find a place to serve.
Find Your Role Apply to VolunteerMost volunteers started by simply showing up. Whether you can help one morning a month or every week, someone will show you what to do and work alongside you.
Salt of the Earth is volunteer-powered. The people sorting food, driving pickups, loading cars, answering phones, and caring for neighbors are the ministry.
"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others." 1 Peter 4:10
Some roles are hands-on, some happen behind the scenes, and some use specialized skills.
Help greet neighbors, sort food, load vehicles, and keep weekly distributions moving smoothly.
Pick up donated food from stores, farms, and other partners and bring it to our facility or distribution sites.
Receive donations, inspect and organize food, stock shelves, and prepare items for distribution.
Help maintain refrigeration, freezers, and other equipment that keeps donated food safe.
Offer prayer, encouragement, a listening ear, and caring support to people in our community.
We will help you get comfortable and find the right place to begin.
Complete the volunteer application and tell us what interests you and when you are generally available.
We will explain how the ministry works, what your role involves, and introduce you to the team.
Come to your first volunteer time. An experienced volunteer will work alongside you.
Come as often as your schedule allows. Many volunteers build friendships here along the way.
No. Most roles do not require prior experience. We will show you what you need to know when you arrive.
Volunteer as often as you can. Some people come every week, while others help once a month or when their schedule allows.
Yes. Families are welcome, and older children and teenagers can often serve alongside a parent or guardian.
Yes. We welcome church, business, and community groups. Call us and we can talk through your group size and schedule.
Probably. We need many different skills, from driving and maintenance to prayer and community care. Complete the volunteer application and tell us what you enjoy doing.
Salt of the Earth is faith-based, and volunteers of different backgrounds are welcome to serve alongside us.
