Growing to Serve More Families

Preparing for What Comes Next

Every week, grocery stores, farms, businesses, and local partners donate thousands of pounds of food and household essentials. As Salt of the Earth grows, we need the space and equipment to safely receive, store, and distribute more of it.

โ„๏ธ

Cold Storage

Safe refrigeration for fresh and frozen food.

๐Ÿ“ฆ

Warehouse & Storage

Organized space that keeps donations accessible and reduces waste.

๐Ÿšœ

Distribution Equipment

Equipment that helps volunteers safely move and distribute donations.

๐Ÿญ

Keeping the Ministry Moving

Fuel, utilities, insurance, and supplies that keep five weekly distributions running.

These are not overhead. They are the ministry.

We are committed to transparency. Every donation is acknowledged, carefully tracked, and faithfully stewarded to support this expansion.

Over 30 years of service

How Salt of the Earth Began

In 1992, Sandra Richards partnered with an 83-year-old woman named Mildred Yager to reach teens living on the streets of Everett. They started with five young people and a bag of sack lunches.

It did not stay small for long. More young people came, Sandra began preparing hot meals, and local grocery stores started donating food. Before long, the ministry was serving teens, adults, and families.

Volunteers joined in, more distribution sites opened, and a donated van made daily food pickups possible. Today, Salt of the Earth serves families across Snohomish County through five food blessing locations.

How It Began

Five young people, sack lunches, and a willingness to show up.

The Community Joined In

Grocery stores, churches, volunteers, and neighbors helped the ministry grow.

Today

Five food blessing locations serve families across Snohomish County each week.

Our Mission

We are dedicated to Godโ€™s promise of giving food to the hungry while creating community through compassionate service.

Our Vision & Core Values

At the heart of our food ministry is a commitment to serve with love, grace, dignity, and purpose. As a faith-based organization, these values guide everything we do.

โ›ช Stewardship

We honor the resources God has entrusted to us: time, food, finances, and relationships. We use them with integrity, transparency, and purpose.

โค Respect

Every person is made in the image of God and deserving of love, dignity, compassion, and kindness.

๐ŸŒŸ Hope

We do more than provide food; we uplift hearts. Every box, every prayer, and every encounter is a reminder that all are seen and not alone.

๐Ÿ  Community

We believe in the power of connection. By partnering with neighbors, local churches, volunteers, businesses, and organizations, we build a stronger, more caring community together.

๐Ÿ™ Service

We serve with joyful hearts, following Christ's example in caring for others with humility and love, meeting both physical and spiritual needs.
