For years, Salt of the Earth has operated from a community center graciously provided by a local church in the Smokey Point area. This partnership has been a true expression of what it means to serve a community together — the church opened its space, and Salt of the Earth filled it with purpose.
From those shared facilities, we've coordinated volunteers, received food donations, sorted and staged thousands of pounds of groceries, and prepared weekly distributions that reach families across Snohomish County. None of that would have been possible without the generosity of a congregation willing to share what they had.

Over the years, the need in our community has grown — and so has our response to it. What began as a modest food distribution operation has expanded into a county-wide food rescue and distribution ministry that now serves thousands of families every year.
This is what we accomplished while operating out of borrowed space. These numbers are exactly why dedicated infrastructure is no longer optional — it's essential.
Salt of the Earth is not leaving the Smokey Point area. Our Saturday distribution at LIFEchurch360 continues. Our relationship with the community there remains strong. What we're doing is taking responsibility for our own growth.

In 2025, our volunteers distributed over 1.2 million pounds of food to 13,170 families — doing it all with limited storage and no proper cold chain. Imagine what we could do with the right infrastructure.

Every family that receives food from Salt of the Earth starts with a journey through our warehouse. It's where donated food is received, sorted, safely stored, and prepared for our four weekly distribution sites across Snohomish County.
As our community's need has grown, our current space has struggled to keep up. We face real limitations — not enough cold storage to accept perishable donations, not enough shelving to stock what we need, and no forklift to safely handle bulk pallets. These aren't luxuries. They're the practical tools that let us say "yes" to more food and more families.

Our current space restricts what food we can accept and store, meaning some donations go elsewhere instead of to our neighbors.
Without proper refrigeration and freezer capacity, we can't consistently accept perishable food — some of the most nourishing donations we receive.
